The Witness Care Unit
The Witness Care Unit (WCU) provides the following services to civilian victims and witnesses from the first court hearing date right through to the conclusion of the case:
It provides a single point of contact for victims and witnesses and conducts needs assessments on all victims & witnesses who are required to give evidence at Court, offering them services such as pre-court familiarisation visits, informs victims and witnesses of Court results in key stages of the Court process.
The WCU also refers victims and witnesses to relevant support agencies if they require further support and supports and encourages victims and witnesses to give evidence at Court.

The Restorative Justice Team
Restorative Justice holds offenders to account for what they have done, personally and directly, and helps victims to get on with their lives. It gives victims the chance to tell offenders the real impact of their crime and get answers to their questions. It lets offenders understand the real impact of what they’ve done, to take responsibility and make amends as well as focusing on the future and moving forward.

Blackpool Youth Justice Service
Blackpool Youth Justice Service (YJS) is a multi-agency team that sits within Blackpool’s wider adolescent service. The YJS is a statutory service that works with children under the age of 18 to prevent and reduce offending behaviour.

Blackburn Youth Justice Service
Blackburn with Darwen Youth Justice Service (YJS) works mainly with children and young people aged 10 -17 years old. Some Court Orders require the YJS to supervise young people after they have reached their eighteenth birthday.
YJS work with young people given statutory Court Orders and with children and young people at a pre-court stage to prevent them entering the criminal justice system.

Lancashire Child and Youth Justice Service
Lancashire Child and Youth Justice Service (LCYJS) is a multi-agency service that is co-ordinated by the local authority and overseen by the Youth Justice Board. This is a statutory partnership, and the team is made up of staff from social care and education, the police, the National Probation Service and local health services.
